Our team just ran the Wild West relay for the second time - our first one was four years ago. Four years ago we couldn't appreciate how well organized this race was, our first one hadn't taught us the lessons of a poorly organized relay yet. The past few years we have done other relays in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. Yours by far has the absolute best organization, setup, and volunteer base that we have ever seen. I know you pull your volunteers from a third-party organization, but you are ultimately the one responsible for making sure they are prepared to do their job and they clearly are. They are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and chipper which is all a team can ask for at 4am when they are rolling into an exchange point on zero sleep and miles and miles down in 90+ degree weather. Additionally, your leg maps, handbooks, and many many emails go above and beyond. I am sure your job is a difficult and a stressful one and we all just wanted you to know how much we appreciate your obvious passion for your job. We look forward to our next RLT Relay! AB, Casper, WY
On behalf of my two teams I'd like to thank you so much for an incredible race. Out of the 24 of us only one has completed a relay race before so we went out on some big limbs by taking this on. We were challenged mentally, physically and emotionally in some crazy ways but we seriously loved every bit of it! We had to work together as a team to get through it. We are all new people in a way and have grown both as a team and individually. Most of my team accomplished something I don't think they ever imagined possible. The race was about as flawless as we could have hoped for. Your planning, organization, volunteers, support, signage, maps, etc. were amazing. Thank you for bringing such passion and expertise to the Colorado running community. The course was breathtaking and I can think of no better way to experience the beauty of our state. MM Fort Collins, CO
RN from the Rubber Chickens Wild West Relay team writing. Just a quick note to thank you for another SUPERB Colorado running experience last weekend! I know you've heard it many times before but the WWR is far and away the most enjoyable, scenic, well organized and trouble-free large relay I've run among several events put on by different companies. Your Flaming Foliage Relay with it's revisit of some of the old Colorado Outward Bound Relay terrain is another favorite as well. Thanks for your RD expertise & concern for participants in both events. RN Lakewood, CO
On behalf of my team, Not a Sausage Party, I want to thank you for all of your hard work, clear and thorough preparation materials, non-corporate, amazing, stunning race that you put on! For this group of 12 women, the Wild West Relay has become a highlight of the year. As we reflected after the race, we discussed how special this experience is for all of us. It is a chance to connect with creative, adventurous, interesting women who also love to run - and do so without the distraction of cell phones and daily life! It is a opportunity for all of us to have an adventure together, run at night (something that many of us have discovered that we actually really enjoy), see a beautiful part of our wonderful state, push ourselves in the name of team striving and cooperation. As a 2nd-year captain I still have my moments of wondering why I continue to herd the cats, but all of that organization stress melts away as soon as we pull into the lot at Budweiser, see the arch, here the announcer, and get ready to run. I simply love this race and it has ruined me and my teammates for other relays. As long as Wild West Relay exists, Not a Sausage Party will be there. AK Fort Collins, CO
Thanks for a wonderful experience. This was by far better than Ragnar Colorado and I would love to do this again next year! CK Commerce City, CO
I just wanted to reach out and tell you that on behalf of my whole entire team we wanted to thank you for putting on such a wonderful and well organized event! This was our first relay race and our first time ever running in Colorado's altitude. The majority of our team was from the Midwest and we made an entire trip out of this race. We were all so incredibly thankful on Timberline Event's organizational skills and how well managed the race was. Due to the organization, everything went very smoothly! So on behalf of all of us, I just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work. If there are any certain sites you would recommend for me to write a review on to encourage others to sign up next year, please let me know. All of us have become huge fans of the relay race scene, but more importantly a fan of RLT Relays. Thanks again! SW Chicago, IL
I'll start by thanking you and all of your volunteers for a wonderful event this past weekend. It was my first time participating in the WWR and I had a great time. You all were unbelievably organized for an extremely complicated event. LD Fort Collins, CO
I tell those whom ask, that WWR was so very well run, with great and so many volunteers, beautiful sceneries and overall , EPIC! Love the medal and T-shirt that was given out, as well. Please know that those had done the WWR when I mentioned I was taking part, ALL said how Awesome it was! They spoke the truth! Congratulations on a successful event! JR Fort Collins, CO
1. This was my wife's and my first relay and this was one of the most fun things we have EVER done. Our team was great, but it was a blast to interact with the other teams. 2. The volunteers were indeed amazing!!!! 3. The race logistics were monstrously great, despite seeming monstrously complex. You guys are awesome!!! PS Denver, CO
Awesome job this year! My first year with your relay though I had competed in several other versions in the past. Your event stands head and shoulders above the other 2 companies I have experience with. BW Wheat Ridge, CO
My mom and I had the most incredible time. Loved your race and the money raised. It was very organized and the volunteers were so amazing. Thanks for the experience of a lifetime! Liz H, Celina, TX
I'm writing on behalf of my entire team to thank you for a well planned, safe, and fun WWR. We had a great time because of so many people's (especially yours) hard work. The course, volunteers, instructions, food, facilities, etc. were all fantastic and I can't think of a single thing that didn't go smoothly from a runner's perspective. Our entire team wants to do it again next year- which I never thought would happen! MR, Fort Collins, CO
I have done hundreds of races, and I have to say the race organization over the past weekend is by far the most impressive, and what is amazing about that is that it was for a race that was over 24 hrs long. I am extremely happy with the overall experience, and I am definitely looking to do this again, and I am telling all who wants to hear "you have to do this race!". LS Denver, CO
I wanted to thank you and all of the volunteers in the Wild West Relay. Not only were the logistics of the event incredibly smooth, the volunteers were fun, good natured and supportive even when surrounded by chaos and delirium. For the past couple days, my team mates and I have been emailing our highlights of the race which vary from running under shooting stars, to the back massages at Exchange 3, the inter-team camaraderie inspired by runner's euphoria, to the spontaneous dance parties and other fun that erupted throughout the 27 hours we competed. In fact, a true indication of the fun I had is the fact that my voice is still somewhat hoarse, and the searing pain in my quads makes me smile. I can hardly wait to compete in another of your relays. AB, Boulder, CO
I can not commend you enough on the race that you have created. The course, the exchanges, the organization, the volunteers, etc., were all exceptional!!! As a team of "rookies" we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you for your tremendous effort in putting this together. I would and will recommend this race to anyone! GB, Belchertown, MA
Thank you thank you thank you. Can't imagine what it takes to put this on. It was a wonderful experience - challenging FUN and inspiring. And of course the volunteers just knocked me out. SO Nice! Much gratitude to you for your efforts. Looking forward to next time. PV, Pueblo, CO
I would like to personally thank you for an awesome experience running my first ever relay! I was a part of ON YOUR LEFT. We all had an incredible experience and can't wait to do another relay! Relays may be my new thing! Your race was so well organized. The volunteers were incredible and just everything was great! Thanks again for all your efforts! SB, Evergreen, CO
Just wanted to share my sincere appreciation for the experience I had this past weekend at WWR. My teammate and I were all first timers and we all had a blast. You did a hell of a job creating a race that ran perfectly smooth. After finishing the race we spent the following day in Steamboat talking about all the highlights. Thank you so much for making this even happen. RL, Boulder, CO
Just 72 hours ago a friend asked me to fill in for a runner who unexpectedly had to drop out of this past weekend's WWR---this was one of the top 5 experiences of my 41 years on this planet. I will absolutely NEVER forget the surreal experience of (I can't remember the leg # but it is the hardest I believe) of climbing 8.8 miles up the steepest grade in the middle if the night with a sky above that resembled a planetarium! Thank God for the restaurant that served pasta! The volunteers were WONDERFUL--I thanked them all--especially the folks serving pancakes on Saturday before I had to run Rabbit Ears. Thanks again--you got me hooked. AJ Arvada,CO
Thank you so much for a wonderful race this past weekend! My team, One Night Stand, had an amazing time! It was the first time any of us had completed it and are ready to do it all over again. I can not imagine the amount of time it takes you to put this race together but your dedication does not go unnoticed! It was an adventure none of us willl forget! Thanks for making it possible! BM Arvada, CO
I want to thank you again for such an amazing experience. Every member of our 12 person team had such a blast. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun! We'll be back next year for sure. You did a tremendous job putting this together. Hats off to you sir! PF Fort Collins, CO
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of your efforts with the race. My team (Unscramble This) had an amazing time. Everyone was already planning for next year before we had even finished our first legs. JC Norfork, NE
On behalf of the Chatfield runners, drivers and myself, we want to thank you and your staff for an outstanding event! We were extremely impressed by the Wild West Relay. You could not have picked and designed a more beautiful course! Your course challenged us and provided us with memories that will last a lifetime. The volunteers were very friendly and supportive and the exchanges well planned out. We appreciate the details you provided, the emphasis on safety, and the excellent route signage and maps. It amazed us that the difference between 2nd and 4th place in a race of this caliber was 35 seconds (only one stoplight). Accurate, well planned start times and adjusting of 10k times to match the difficulty of legs led to a very close race. CD Littleton, CO
Speaking for team "Pass Kickers", we all had a fantastic time. The race is well done, and it's beautiful. Before the race, I vowed to never be a Captain again. After the race, I was ready to start planning for next year. Kudos to you and your hard work. JC Broomfield, CO
Once again, the Wild West Relay was an unqualified success! I can't even imagine the kind of time and effort that goes into organizing such a great weekend. But I, for one, really appreciate it! CS Fort Collins, CO
I wanted to thank you, the staff and volunteers of the relay. The event was extremely well organized and I commend you all for doing such a great job. My team (Big Apple Dumpling Gang) has now done 3 relays (California Relay, Reach the Beach, and now WWR), and I found your organization and leg maps the best of all three! Since most of our team is from New York, we definitely plan on adding the Green Mountain Relay to our list. KL New York City, NY
Wanted to write on behalf of my team (HoodFellas) and express our gratitude for putting on such a first rate event. We came from all over the country and had an absolute blast - all details of the race were taken care of, logistics were seamless, and all involved were extremely helpful and generous. We will definitely participate in this event (as well as the Vermont event) again in the future. Thanks again for all of your (and your team's) hard work - it was not unnoticed and we realize that everything you did allowed for us to have such a terrific time. MS Washington DC
I am in awe of the job your volunteer coordinator did on the Wild West Relay. The race (which I loved by the way) could have been a disaster without the trained, ready, and pleasant volunteers. From my perspective it went off flawlessly. Given the number of volunteers, the variety of jobs they had to perform, the weird hours, and the geographic dispersion, pulling this all together was a pretty impressive feat. RS Niwot, CO
A race well-done. I am impressed with your planning and race mgmt. our team had a fantastic time! Only favorable comments, and a superior event experience. You are good at this. "If you want to get together with your friends and run. this is the place to be!" BK Greenwood Village, CO
What a wonderful two days to reflect on for a lifetime. Team Pass Kickers sends their thanks for a well organized event that brought a great number of fun active people together with a common goal of getting over the mountain. BF Broomfield, CO
Just a note to say before you are off: YOU ROCK! Seriously, I have 9 new runners on my team this year and a few of them have done other running relays. Everyone of them has said that this is the best organized event they have run. I told you this before and now it is more than just my opinion. CL Albuquerque, NM
I can't forget to say what a wonderful fun and adventurous time we all had! This was our team's first year doing the race and it won't be our last!!!!! Thanks for all the work you do to make this a fabulous race. EC Fort Collins, CO
Thanks for an incredible running experience. The run was memorable, the scenery breathtaking, the camaraderie unforgettable, and the organization (and logistics of getting this all together for 200 miles across Colorado) was impressive. EA Los Angeles, CA
I have only done one other relay race but everyone on our two teams felt this was the most organized event we have participated in. The facilities and volunteers were top notch and we all had a great time. CM Irvine, CA
I would like to say thank you for an amazing time at the WWR! It was so much fun that I still haven't stopped talking about it! AC Loveland, CO
the race was awesome!! It was a blast; I probably don't fully understand how much work it is to put something like this together but I am totally amazed!! I was excited to see some parts of Colorado that I've never seen and I hope to be running next year! PF Fort Collins, CO
Thank you for one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. We had a mixed team, some amazing and some average, I am in the average category, however have been more motivated to step it up and train hard for next year and other events and it's all your fault. I am in better shape now than I have been in 10 years, (young @ 40!). Most of us did not know each other before the race, and the bond between us and the friendships formed on this trip are truly wonderful. I have told so many people about the event and experience that I hope your numbers triple next time! Really really, just want to say thanks. You rock! KF Loveland, CO
I just have to let you know that this was the very best race I have ever run in. I usually bypass races because I get too nervous, but this race was so much FUN that I am going to run it every year until I keel over. I can't stop thinking about it and you can bet that we are going to be one of the teams that sign up in October. I (and my team) appreciate all of your hard work and dedication. I was the captain of our team and felt like I had a big load to carry to make certain our 12 person team ran smoothly, and you organize it for everyone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We'll see you next year, and I'm going to be MUCH faster! DS Fort Collins, CO
We would like to congratulate you and your team on another great WWR!! We are unanimous in our enthusiasm and have nothing but kudos for every aspect of this years WWR. Great time ...great venue...great challenge. Massie's Maniacs will be one of the first to register for WWR 08. Thank you so much for your efforts!! LM Gering, NE
THANK YOU so much for an AWESOME Wild West Relay. This was the best one yet, and we all had a great time!! The volunteers were wonderful and the support was incredible. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! CS Fort Collins, CO
I thought the whole thing rocked and I really miss my 6 van mates! CS Superior, CO
On behalf of my team, volunteers, and drivers I would like to thank you for a most wonderfully organized event! We had the time of our lives! All's we had to worry about was running, the logistics and organization was superb and I will brag about your event to my running community in Arizona. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet you before the start, your imagination for an event such as the WWR is brilliant, thanks for bringing your vision to light so families and friends such as mine can be together doing something we love! SR Cave Creek, AZ
Thank you for a perfectly planned and executed event. I have never seen better. My team had mostly first time relay runners and they had a blast of a time, much more than they expected. We will be back next year. FO Longmont, CO
Thanks again and congratulations on running a great event. The More Cowbell team really enjoyed the race and thought everything was very well organized. It was an incredible experience from all perspectives -- course setup, volunteers, exchanges, jaw dropping scenery, challenge, etc. As we mentioned to you at the finish, given we've never done this before and are from low altitude, we didn't know what to expect. This race exceeded all of our expectations. SF Columbus, OH
I wanted to write to you express how much fun I had at the Wild West Relay. This was my first time running an event like this and I had a blast. The organization of the race is great and everyone I spoke with was always willing to help. Your hard work putting together this race is evident in all of the smiles at the finish. Thanks again for all of the fun! ME Fort Collins, CO
Thanks. Looking forward to next year!! The organization of this was far better than the XXX we ran last year. You all did a great job. TG Littleton, CO
Thank you again for running an excellent event. This was my third year participating in it, and it seemed to go even smoother than the previous two despite the increased number of teams. CM Denver, CO
Thank you for putting on such a fun and extremely well organized event. My team members keep thanking me and I have to explain to them that it has been you who has made this event run so smoothly. We all had a blast running our asses over the passes and we cannot wait until next year! Thank you for all of your hard work! I cannot even imagine how much time and effort you have put into this event to make it all come together. KE Denver, CO
We had the best time of our lives. I can't thank you enough for the cherished memories. Thank you for your efforts. You are amazing and everything was perfect......down to every detail. You are phenomenal. Thank you for an awesome relay. JR Cave Creek, AZ
I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful race you put on. We were the 5 person team of "Taking It Up The Pass". 3 of our team have done multiple IRONMAN races, etc. However, we had 2 ladies who had never run more than a 10k before this race. They were very inspirational to do what they did to get our team to the finish line (time was not our goal, finishing was). What a struggle, but a lovely one at that. Never had more pain and fun at the same time. On behalf of my whole team, THANKS. We will return. TU Windsor, CO
Congratulations on organizing a top notch event! Having run XXX a couple times I think you have surpassed that relay in terms of logistics and planning. Even though your course and the terrain is obviously more challenging I would choose WWR over XXX any day! ML Grand Junction, CO
Just wanted to let you know, your event was a great success. It was very well organized and a beautiful route. We had a wonderful time and my wife and I are hooked. We're looking forward to forming our own 6x6 team to participate in the run next year. If all goes to plan, you'll have two former triathlon Olympians participating next year. See ya then and keep up the great work! TW & SW Boulder, CO
I just wanted to drop a note to say thanks for directing the race. I don't know exactly what was different, but it seemed like the relay went more smoothly from top to bottom than in the last couple of years. Our team had a fantastic time, and we'll do our best to get back again next year. JJ Fort Collins, CO
Just wanted to tank you and your staff for a wonderful event. We had a fantastic time in a well run and organized event. "Most fun you can have w/ your clothes on: -) Thanks to all. See you next year. PW Colorado Springs, CO
As the time gets closer and closer you continue to impress me with your level of communication to team captains. I am a strong communicator myself and appreciate when others are as detailed! My questions are answered and the directions are specific. You have perfected this relay. I know on race day things will flow smoothly and there will be nothing but great adventures in store. Thank you for doing all of this WORK and I hope you get to enjoy race day by watching people partake in this awesome event. Even though we may not have smiles on our face (I am on an ultra team), we are smiling inside! Thank you for all of your effort and keep up the great job! SW Falcon, CO
Just finished the run yesterday and may I say it was one of the best-organized events I've ever been in. I cannot praise you enough on what a great job you all did: the mapping, the prep work (getting info out on what to bring, what to expect, what to do), the exchanges - from start to finish I was constantly amazed on how well run everything SEEMED to go (you all might have a different perspective!). Thanks for such a well-organized relay. I would highly recommend this run to anyone who wants to have a good time and a challenging course. NW Loveland, CO
I just wanted to send you a quick email thanking you for all your hard work on the Wild West Relay! You really did a fantastic job and put together a great race. I was very impressed with all of the information that was available in advance. It seemed like everyone on my team commented on how great maps & directions for each of the legs were. I know you spent a lot of time on it and it really showed. Nice work. I'm sure you'll find our team back in future years. LD Fort Collins, CO
Thanks so much from the members of The Grateful Tread for what has to be one of the best running experiences we've all had. The racecourse was beautiful, the organization remarkable, and the spirit incredible. You should feel pretty damn good about pulling this event off while raising nearly $10,000 for worthwhile causes. KC Evergreen, CO
This was an excellent race and all our team members had a wonderful time. We couldn't think of anything that should be done differently! The volunteers were well trained, very nice and helpful. The 1-mile-to-go signs were a huge hit as well. We enjoyed the camaraderie and good-natured competitiveness with the other teams. Thank you for all of your hard work. It is obvious that this was organized by a runner for other runners and we appreciate everything. Congratulations on a successful event! MH Fort Collins, CO
First, let me say that our team and I had an AMAZING time. The WWR was a truly fantastic event. We are all sad that it is over and we can hardly wait until next year. AR Fort Collins, CO
What can I say, but "WOW!" You, and your coordinating team, were fantastic. The entire team felt that this was definitely one of the best-organized races we've ever experienced.... and that includes my Dad (our driver) who has been running races for over 55 years! As much as I expected from this race, I also expected some "first time" problems -- what a surprise when NONE of them surfaced. As I said, WOW!!! MH Denver, CO
Thank you for one of the best running experiences I've had. This was my and my team's first relay and we are all hooked! We did have one person who had run Hood to Coast but she really preferred this one. We have such incredible memories! Thank you. JA Dallas, TX
I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved in the Wild West Relay. Our entire team had a blast, and I can't believe how very well organized everything was. The time and effort you all went to must have been staggering!! I will DEFINITELY do this event again, and I will tell all my friends just how WONDERFUL you all are. THANK YOU so very much for a once in a lifetime experience!!! CS Fort Collins
I finally have a moment and the energy to write and tell you what a terrific event you all put together. The organization was excellent. The volunteers were wonderful. The runs were exhilarating. The finish was well done. As a group, my team, the Delirious Dozen, have all committed to doing it again next year - and that was decided sometime around 2am Saturday morning, before the fun of Rabbit Ears came to us. MG Thornton, CO
Fantastic job with the relay! It was so well organized. My team had a wonderful time with the running, training and camaraderie throughout. It was a joy to be a part of the inaugural event. We can't wait until next year. Thanks for all your meticulous preparations. They certainly paid off! RR Denver, CO
it was the most amazing team experience I've ever had and the Larimer Sole Train plans to do it again next year! It was very well organized and I hope you feel a GREAT sense of accomplishment! Thank you for all your hard work to put it together so more of us could participate in an adventure race. I know the WWR will quickly gain in popularity. I've heard nothing but wonderful reports from others. Even my race and nonprofit volunteers want to do it again next year! KS Fort Collins, CO
I just wanted you to know that this race was so wonderful for Matt. He did incredible with the support of his pacer and came back from the experience with a new sense of accomplishment, victory and hope. It's been a long time since I've seen him doing so well. He gets up every morning ready to workout (we've been home for 5 days and have already been to 4 spinning classes) and ready to help around the house (I really like this one). I think that this race gave him more confidence because he was part of a team and because he succeeded so well. We both appreciate this opportunity and of course we really appreciate all of the encouragement from well-wishers. CS Fort Collins, CO
Please know that the "Napa Valley Mealybugs" had a fabulous time!! Any number of times, team members commented on the organization of the event, from soup to nuts, the pleasant interactions with the organizers, volunteers, and the runners. I don't know how it could have been better other than to have had my legs move faster!! CS Napa, CA
Thank you for putting on such a wonderful event. We had one of the most memorable experiences. I had never participated in a relay, before this. Sooooo much fun!!! AM Colorado Springs, CO
I did some quick calculating on our race fee plus the extra donation. We paid $0.53 per mile for an outstandingly grand amount of fun. A recent marathon that my wife and I signed up for is costing us $2.10 per mile and it will all be over in 4 - 5 hours. This is the best bargain in running! The Dallas Hill Wranglers are planning to return next year to defend our Flatlanders title. Thanks again for a great race. PM, Corinth, TX
