Timberline Events LLC specializes in organizing team relay races. Rather than design races to handle large number of teams, we prefer to have the quality of the route be the primary goal.
Timberline Events LLC was formed in January 2004 and is based in Englewood, Colorado. Specializing in running relay events, Timberline Events’ first event was the Wild West Relay in 2004, a 198-mile route from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs traveling through Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming.
Timberline Events LLC second event, the 199-mile Green Mountain Relay in Vermont, started in 2006.
We also have started “sprint” relays between college football rivalries. Our first is the 52-mile Civil War Relay between Eugene (University of Oregon) and Corvallis (Oregon State University).
We have other race ideas ranging from being on the drawing board to waiting for the issuance of permits.
Timberline Events LLC has a very good reputation and safety record. We are known for our scenic and rural routes, and the high quality of the organization of our events.
The owner of Timberline Events is Paul Vanderheiden. Paul’s professional background includes being a commercial whitewater river guide since 1979, working on rivers in California, Oregon, Idaho, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona. He also owned and managed Open Air Adventures for eleven years, offering river trips on the Class V section of the Kern River known as “The Forks of the Kern” in a partnership with Kern River Tours, the permit holder for that section of river. Paul also earned an ATP pilot’s license, the highest commercial pilot license rating available.
His running background includes completing eighteen marathons, three Half-Ironman, and one Ironman triathlon, and organizing or participating with ten relay teams running five different relay events.
We also time races under the business name Finish Line Timing.
Timberline Events LLC is a member of 1% For the Planet – one percent of our revenue is donated to environmental organizations.
